THE SEEKING FATHER

Seeking_FatherWorship must be so important to God because He seeks those who worship. I doubt if we have scratched the surface of the importance of this subject, but no doubt the church will walk in the fullness of it. Imagine doing something that causes God to diligently search. God loves all His children but those who worship, cause Him to chase after them, with His love. It is very difficult to comprehend that the One who holds the entire universe together by the word of His power is at the same time searching among His children, for those who worship Him in spirit and truth.

Who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, (Hebrews 1:3).

No earthly child is hesitant to embrace a loving father, how much more should we, who are loved by God. In the conversation Jesus had with the Samaritan woman, He refers to the fact that ‘the Father is seeking such to worship Him.’

But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. (John 4:23)

The picture of an earthly father seeking for his lost child is a relentless endeavour, until the child is found. Only then is the father’s desire fulfilled. Our Heavenly Father does not seek for us in the sense that we are lost. On the contrary, He seeks for our worship because we have been ‘found’. Can you picture an earthly father’s joy and love toward a child that was lost and in grave danger? This gives some insight into the joy our Heavenly Father has for us, except it is infinitely more.

Worship is the Fathers invitation to find Him seeking your presence. That’s an amazing and truly humbling fact.
