praise_faithIt’s one thing to read God’s Word and confess God’s Word, but there’s something very powerful about praising God for His Word. It’s been said that praise is the highest expression of faith, because we have the opportunity to sing the result before the result is manifest. Praise is the Christian’s cry of victory. It is a spiritual force that lets the principalities and powers know they are defeated. Praise demonstrates the celebration mode we are in because of Christ’s victory. Praise is a celebration of God’s promises even though we don’t have the manifestation of them in the natural realm. We need to celebrate what God has promised even though we might not necessarily be experiencing the promises as we praise. Praise is the best way to deal with things that don’t yet exist, but have been promised according to God’s Word.

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. (Hebrews 11:1)

Faith is the substance behind praise. It’s what makes praise so powerful and devastating to the enemy. The following scripture reminds us that when God’s people started singing, God immediately acted.

And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed those who should sing to the Lord, and who should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army and were saying:

“Praise the Lord, For His mercy endures forever.” Now when they began to sing and to praise, the Lord set ambushes against the people of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir, who had come against Judah; and they were defeated. (2 Chronicles 20:21-22)

The reason for this was that they believed God’s prophets (2 Chronicles 2:10). They believed the Word of God, and then they sang praise. Men and women of great faith were and still are people of great intimacy, giving glory to God. Abraham would not waiver of the promise of God.

He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God. (Romans 4:20)

The just shall live by faith. Faith gives us the kind of life that pleases God, and necessary to live the Christian life (Galatians 3:11). Life without faith is living below God’s standards. If God tells you to do something, He will always give you the faith to fulfill it. Many people are asking God for more faith, but in reality all they have to do is what God told them to do. Faith will always match every instruction God gives you. If it doesn’t, then you have to question if it was a God instruction in the first place. Faith is the kind of lifestyle that takes us into the uncomfortable zone where the total reliance for our very existence and our success is on God. It is the place where there is no security in anything except God. Faith has no hidden agendas or plans outside of God’s will. Faith is an unselfish lifestyle that takes our eyes off ourselves and puts them on God. Faith is a place where most people would like to live, but few dare to go. It is the place where mountains of impossibilities are removed, and where Goliaths lie in the dust. Faith is the only lifestyle that pleases God, and it is characterized by praise. Knowledge must precede faith and both knowledge and faith must precede praise. If we praise without knowledge, our praise has no truth and will be fleshly. If we praise with knowledge but have no faith, our praise has no substance. Praise is the fruit from the tree of faith that is rooted in the soil of knowledge. When praise based knowledge and faith goes up, the walls of adversity, blockage, sickness and lack come down.
