Israel_articleI thought I would write about the on going trouble in Israel. No doubt like myself you are appalled by the death of both Palestinians and Jews. It’s not only in the Middle East where there is such an Antichrist spirit operating but in many parts of the world. The nations are currently raging and the Muslim extremist spirit is rising. We certainly live in a world plagued with ruthless terrorist activity fueled by religious fervor intent on forcing Sharia law on humanity and submission to Muhammad. They say it’s only the minority extremist Muslims we should be worried about, but the facts are that there are 1.2 billion Muslims in the world today of which between 15-25% are radical. This is according to intelligence security around the world. This means there are 180- 300 million radicals willing to wage religious war and exterminate western civilization if they get the chance.

It’s a war for worshipers, and the prime target is against Israel and it’s occupants and Christianity. Why is there such a insatiable thirst in the Muslim world to exterminate Jews? It’s because God sovereignly chose a geographical spot in the earth called Israel to bring His Son into the earth. As a Jew, Jesus’ life and ministry will forever be linked to Israel and Jerusalem. God will protect both the nation and Jerusalem to fulfil his plans for the establishment of His eternal abode. However in the interim, there will be turmoil, but it’s not a time to panic or fear, but to exercise trust and faith in Gods promises to bring forth a glorious church.

The devil is the author of all false religions and the religious leader and deceiver of millions who have rejected Jesus Christ as the only true and living God. His ultimate goal is to be worshiped and draw men away from worshiping God. To achieve his ultimate goal of being worshiped by humanity he will establish himself as a world leader known as the Antichrist in the not too distant future (1 John 2:18, 4:3, 2 John 1:7). The Antichrist will appear to have answers to the world’s problems but dupe the majority of people of his real motive which is to be adored and worshiped as ‘God’. The platform for his entrance onto the world’s stage is a turning away even by many Christians from everything pertaining to godliness. Escalating sin, global financial crisis, lawlessness and a lack of world leadership will afford him the opportunity to rise to his role as the answer to the world’s problems. From this platform he will head for Jerusalem, set himself up in the temple and demand global submission and worship (2 Thessalonians 2:3-4). This will be the fulfilment of his goal since the time he was cast out of heaven. Simultaneously God is seeking those who will worship Him in spirit and truth. Jesus referred to finding faith on the earth when He returns characterised by persistent prayer and no doubt fervent worship (Luke 18:1-8).

The battle that rages in the spirit realm is ultimately for worshipers and the war between the devil and God for worshipers and will continue throughout the church age until ultimately the devil is thrown into the lake of fire (Revelation 20:10). The devil hates when we worship more than anything else because it reminds him that the prophetic timetable is ticking down toward the end of this age when the church will reach it’s most glorious state before Jesus return. In the midst of global degradation, disorder and confusion God’s people will be experiencing His glory like no other generation.

The rise of radical Muslims is not to scare us, but conversely to inspire us to trust and worship the living God who has everything under control. God encourages us to be at peace, be of good cheer which literally means be courageous and don’t fear because Jesus has overcome the world (John 16:33). In the midst of a chaotic war ridden Middle East, and sin laden world we can have peace because the greater one indwells us (1 John 4:4). He further said that He has given us power over all the power of the enemy (Luke 10:18-19). Putting these scriptures together we can conclude that we can experience a continuous victory over the enemy especially as worshipers of God irrespective of the things going on in the world around us. because our trust is in the Prince of peace. Before Jesus returns for His Church the most significant feature of it will be worship, a uncompromising love and passion for God that will literally shake the world, a glorious church.

In the mean time pray for the peace of Jerusalem and the nation of Israel.
